Mullwell is Dave Matchett, based in Kelowna, British Columbia.
My subjects come from my desire to see the unknown, shooting in locations that most people haven’t thought to capture. I take my photos handheld allowing me to fluidly move through the environment getting the angle and composition that catches my eye best.
Landscapes and the beauty of nature are my preferred subject, but there is beauty in the heart of an urban center and in the eyes of the wildlife that are around us. Taking the time to plan out where and when to go is a large and enjoyable part of my process, letting me get into the right position to get those special moments.
I am inspired by the world that surrounds us, be it a remote mountain lake or a busy downtown core. I carry my camera with me almost everywhere, ready to capture the moments and sights that can appear in moments and disappear just as quickly.
